Job Description

Are you a UX designer with an eye for detail and precision? Do you have a passion for Design Systems, iOS experiences and the complexity of components across device experiences? This role works alongside designers, engineers, product managers and writers to ensure a smooth and accurate delivery of next generation design system components.

Are you an experienced designer with a strong portfolio that highlights collaboration between UX and Engineering? Do you have a deep understanding of Material Design and hands-on experience designing for Android and/or iOS? Have you successfully led design sprints with product teams and delivered impactful results?

Overall Responsibilities:

  • Create detailed specifications for components with an emphasis on Android and iOS contexts, in close collaboration with Material Designers and the Material Android and iOS engineering team
  • Review implementation of Design System components, auditing code and providing feedback for fixes and gaps
  • Ensure that components pass accessibility standards
  • Communicate clearly and concisely with stakeholders and reviewers

Top 3 Daily Responsibilities:

  • Create, revise and organize spec documentation for Material Design components, drawing from existing and ongoing Designs and Design resources
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and reviewers to bridge gaps in documentation through constructive reviews and design critiques
  • Collaborate with iOS design leads and engineers to help reach iOS GTM and release goals. This might include design sprints with app teams across the company.

Mandatory Skills/Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 4+ years of UI/UX design, iOS and/or Android design, or a related field, OR significant industry experience uniquely qualifying you for this role
  • Strong attention to precision and detail, with the ability to match redlines and design specs
  • Clear and effective communicator, with proven experience creating and contributing to Design System specifications and documentation
  • Ability to work effectively cross functionally with other teams (Design, Research, Engineering, and PgM)
  • Experience in participating in design sprints, creating rapid design concepts and Figma prototypes.

Non-Essential Skills/Qualifications:

  • Passion for invention, human-computer interaction, and seamless user experiences
  • Strong Visual Design skills with the flexibility to work successfully within Creative Direction guidance
  • Strong understanding of production requirements and the willingness to steer work to minimize negative impact
  • Confident presenting and promoting design solutions
  • The ability to wear many hats and contribute across disciplines through proactive and inclusive collaboration
  • A history of designing delightful interactive experiences
  • Experience working with a multidisciplinary team of designers and developers
  • Self-motivated and comfortable defining and meeting aggressive timelines
  • Strong brainstorming skills, from participation to leadership
  • A strong interest in design, technology, and trends, with an eye toward the future
  • Understanding of Accessibility best practices and implementation

Logistics:

Pay Range: $70 - $89

The specific compensation for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
