Natixis is seeking an experienced mid-level attorney to join its Legal Department and provide legal and regulatory advice for the Corporate and Investment Banking business lines in the Americas region. The focus areas include debt capital markets (investment grade debt, program issuances, high-yield bonds, and US private placements), equity capital markets (initial public offerings, secondary share sales, and structured equity transactions), and Natixis/BPCE treasury and issuance programs for US funding. This role offers significant exposure to securitization transactions, structured notes issuances, equity derivatives, and transactional broker-dealer regulatory matters. • Taking all necessary steps to ensure a comprehensive understanding of legal risks incurred by the relevant business lines and providing appropriate solutions to control and reduce those risks.
  • Coordinating with the Head Office and other locations to promote transparency and consistency in approach.
  • Providing legal analysis on new products and contributing to the New Product Committee as necessary.
  • Instructing and managing external counsel and legal fees.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) or Master of Laws (LLM) degree.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least three years of relevant work experience at a law firm or financial institution.
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional written communication skills, including the ability to convey thoughts clearly and succinctly while communicating pertinent and complex information in an organized manner.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure to meet deadlines, and respond creatively and quickly in a fast-paced and changing environment.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while recognizing when to involve team members as needed, and to work effectively in a team environment.
  • A high degree of integrity and a strong work ethic, with timely follow-through on commitments. The candidate should promote best practices within the department and enhance control over procedures.
