Senior Real Estate Attorney – Partner-Level Role with Leadership Focus | Winston-Salem, NC
A leading law firm is seeking an experienced commercial real estate attorney to join its Winston-Salem office at the partner level. Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee complex real estate transactions including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, land use, and financings
• Draft, negotiate, and review documents related to commercial leases, purchase agreements, and financing packages
• Lead due diligence investigations involving title, survey, zoning, and environmental issues
• Advise on land development approvals, municipal permitting, and entitlement matters
• Provide strategic guidance to developers, lenders, and institutional clients
• Build and expand client relationships within the real estate investment and development sectors
• Supervise and mentor junior attorneys and staff, managing workloads and providing feedback
• Collaborate across practice groups (corporate, tax, environmental) to deliver integrated solutions
• Maintain familiarity with emerging trends in NC real estate law, land use policy, and finance

Qualifications:
• Minimum 8 years of commercial real estate legal experience
• Proven history of leading multi-million-dollar property transactions
• Demonstrated ability to attract and retain clients in the real estate sector
• Active North Carolina Bar membership or eligibility for reciprocity
• Prior leadership experience guiding legal teams or supervising junior attorneys

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
• Undergraduate background in business, finance, or urban planning is preferred

Certifications & Licenses:
• Licensed to practice in North Carolina (required)
• CLE credits in real estate, land use, or property finance preferred
• Advanced credentials in real estate law or sustainability (e.g., LEED Green Associate) are a plus
