Position Summary :
The Deli Clerk at Uwajimaya prioritizes excellent customer service by providing unparalleled interaction, product knowledge, and assistance in food preparation.
Position’s Key Responsibilities :
Provide excellent customer service with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
Greet customers warmly, assist with inquiries, and offer recommendations.
Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing deli department.
Ensure adherence to health department and company policies to maintain a safe environment for both dining and workplace activities.
Take and fulfill customer orders while adhering to portion control guidelines.
Monitor and communicate low or attention-needed product levels to cooks.
Ensure accurate wrapping, labeling, pricing, logging, and dating of products; remove expired items.
Prepare and package deli food condiments for cold and hot cases.
Operate the cash register following Cashier Guidelines & Procedures, maintaining stocked supplies.
Continuously enhance product knowledge to improve customer service and satisfaction.
Other duties as assigned.
Starting at $21.00/hr., Depending on Experience.

Position Requirements :
Must be at least 18 years old.
Minimum of a High school diploma or equivalent.
Prior retail experience and knowledge of Asian products, preferred.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Basic math proficiency, familiarity with ten-key/calculator, and comfortable using computers.
Flexible schedule to accommodate varying shifts.
Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and proactively work independently.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
